Peringome Vayakkara Grama Panchayat – Beacon Town Activities

As part of the Beacon Town Project, a baseline survey was launched in Peringome Town to assess the cleanliness of public spaces, scientific waste management practices, green surroundings, quality of basic infrastructure, and people-friendly public spaces.
Under the leadership of Peringome Vayakkara Grama Panchayat, 33 NSS volunteers from Peringome Government Higher Secondary School participated in the baseline survey. The survey was inaugurated by Smt. K. Lalitha, President, Peringome Vayakkara Grama Panchayat. Smt. Beena V. V., Chairperson, Health & Education Standing Committee, presided over the function.
Sri. Pankajakshan C. K., Secretary, Grama Panchayat, explained the Beacon Town Project. Sri. Sureshan P., Smt. Prajitha K., Sri. C. K. Sankaranarayanan Master, and Smt. Rasiya V. V. addressed the gathering.
Smt. Padmaja A. P., NSS Programme Officer, Peringome Government Higher Secondary School, coordinated the survey activities.
The NSS volunteers were divided into six groups and, with the assistance of Grama Panchayat staff, conducted surveys of commercial establishments, nearby households, and public institutions in Peringome Town. The findings were subsequently presented at the Panchayat Hall.
Based on the data collected through the baseline survey, the Panchayat Governing Committee will prepare and implement an action plan for various activities to be undertaken under the Beacon Project, which will continue until October 2.
